1 and 2 Corinthians

Click on the yellow triangle below if you want to listen to Paul's Letter to the church in the city of Corinth recorded in the Duri language.

Paul wrote two letters to the church he had founded in Corinth.

He wrote this first letter, because there were some immoral believers there that didn't yet understand clearly the Christian teaching.

The city of Corinth was a big city in the land of Greece in the province of Achaia in the Roman Empire. Several nationalities lived there and the city was known as a commercial and cultural center. But it was also known for its immorality and its many kinds of religions.

Paul's second letter to the Corinthians was written when there was a difficult time between him and the church. There were some believers there that strongly opposed him. But Paul wanted to show that he had good intentions and wanted reconciliation.
