Paul wrote this letter to the congregation in Rome so that they would be ready when he came to them. He wanted to stay there and help the believers. And with the help of the congregation in Rome he would be able to continue his journey to the land of Spain.

Paul explains in this letter that Lord God and mankind have to be reconciled for the Jews as well as the non-Jews are all controlled by sin. Paul tells how good it is when we live with Christ, and that new life we get if we are reconciled with Lord God. And the Spirit of God releases us from the power of sin and the power of death.
